Smart Kids’ Child Development Centers provide an early childhood experience through quality infant-care, toddler development (twos and threes), and school readiness programs. We also offer Pre-K Programs, After School Programs, and School Aged Summer Camp.






Pre-Kindergarten Program

What is North Carolina Pre-Kindergarten (NC Pre-K) And How to Enroll?        
North Carolina Pre-Kindergarten is a voluntary pre-kindergarten program designed to prepare four-year-olds in North Carolina for success in school. High quality childcare centers partner with the Division of Child Development and Early Education to provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum and structured environment for students.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for the North Carolina Pre-K program, children must:

  • Be four years old by August 31st and be eligible for kindergarten the following year.
  • Be a resident of  Charlotte in Mecklenburg County or Gastonia in Gaston County
  • Meet the family size and income requirements set by the state of North Carolina.
  • Children of active duty military families are also eligible & children receiving speech services.
